Length of gynecomastia Surgery: 1 to 3 Hours
Location: Accredited Surgery Center or Hospital
Anesthesia: General or local with sedation
Recovery Time: The patient can usually return to work in 5 days
to a week depending on the individual. Exercise and strenuous activity may
be done at 3 to 6 weeks following surgery.
Post Operative Healing: Each patient heals differently; however
following the male breast reduction surgery patients may experience temporary
pain, swelling, possible bruising, soreness, numbness, burning sensation and
fatigue.
Scars: The small incisions around the areolar will fade and
flatten with time. It has been our experience that patients are very happy
with their post op results, the small scars and their new look.
Helpful Hints: Be in good mental and physical health. Do Not
Smoke. Help improve healing by taking pre and postoperative vitamins. Rest
and allow the body sufficient time for healing after surgery. Improve the
appearance of small scars with topical gel.
